The MidNite Solar Surge Protector Device (MNSPD) is a Type 1 device per UL1449 rev3. It is designed for both AC and DC systems and provides protection to service panels, load centers or where the SPD is directly connected to the electronic device requiring protection.
Protection for Classic and other charge controllers, off grid PV combiners and 120/240 VAC circuits.

The MidNite Solar MNPV8HV Disco 3R can be re-configured in the field to be used with non-isolated inverters where both the positive and negative need to be disconnected. This also allows these to be used to combine and disconnect two arrays feeding two separate isolated inverters. This disconnecting and standard pre-wired combiner is plug and play, saving both time and money in the field. MidNite Solar’s Rapid Shutdown system, which includes MidNite’s disconnecting combiners, meet the requirement of the 2014 NEC 690.12 code.
